FIELD SCOUT

Ulrich Management Consulting is based in Turlock, California and serves the Farm Management, Labor, Irrigation, and Pest Management needs of growers in the Central Valley. We are looking to add an intern to our team. Internship will start in January.

OVERVIEW

Scouts field searching for signs of pest problems including but not limited to insects, diseases, weeds, and nematodes.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Walks fields checking for insects, diseases, weeds, and other issues.
• Places and picks up insect traps.
• Release biological control organisms where warranted.
• Collects soil and tissue samples for lab analysis.
• Other technical tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Completes daily scout reports on assigned fields.
• Must understand and follow Supervisor’s directions and meet standards set for each of the jobs that may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with excellence. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Valid California Driver’s License.
• PCA license or in the process of obtaining
• Excellent planning and scheduling abilities.
• Able to solve problems with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Self-motivating likes to think out of the box; problem solver.
• Must have some skills in technology to use scouting app.
